Improving cataract surgery
Since its launch in 2013, Cassini has been at the forefront of improving cataract surgery outcomes by providing diagnostic analysis of the total cornea, including the posterior surface. At the 2017 Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons in Lisbon, Portugal, twelve studies were presented demonstrating outstanding diagnostic accuracy and clinical outcomes based on Cassini’s performance. Covering a wide range of research interests, the studies focused on measurement of the posterior cornea, precision of femtosecond laser assisted arcuate incisions for correction of astigmatism and comparative studies of Cassini and other diagnostic technologies.
Point to point ray tracing
Cassini uses patented multi-colored LED point-to-point ray tracing to provide a GPS-like analysis of the cornea along with high-resolution images utilized for surgical guidance. The unique measuring principle enables highly accurate and repeatable measurements of the Total Corneal Astigmatism.
With this approach, Cassini is able to offer a full suite of examinations required for toric, extended depth of focus and multifocal IOL implantation, including corneal topography, posterior corneal analysis, mesopic and photopic pupillometry and full color photography. Using Cassini, cataract surgeons are able to better understand the properties of the total corneal resulting in improved outcomes and increased premium patient satisfation and volume.
Cassini helps improving post-operation refractive outcomes by accurately and reliably measuring preoperatively, using patented point-to-point ray tracing technology.
Developing the diagnostic platform
Innovation Industries shares Cassini's long term vision of continuous innovation with the goal of delivering the best possible refractive outcomes to patients, while at the same time improving operational efficiencies and providing to surgeons and industry partners an indispensable technology platform for seamless integration of the clinic and surgical suite. Our collaboration will accelerate the development and successful commercialization of Cassini's diagnostic platform for premium refractive cataract surgery procedures.
Cassini has built an impressive global customer base and has started to generate very compelling clinical data. We strongly support the vision of the leadership team to accelerate R&D and clinical study efforts to bring Cassini to the next performance level and expand strategic partnerships to other key players in the industry.
